Youth Ministry

Our youth, which are our most precious asset, need to be mentored and guided on an everyday basis. This is a full-time need that is absolutely imperative in every culture and faith. This is why we, at Corpus Christi, put our children first.

One of our principal youth programs is Operation YOA, or Youth Offering Assistance. This is a program that gives the youth an opportunity to assist the seniors of our church with whatever tasks they need accomplished around their homes. Parishioners call to make appointments and inform us of their specific needs. Upon completion of requested tasks, a free-will donation is made.

Located in the inner city, our youth participate in many activities that are vital to the growth of Detroit. For example, Corpus Christi youth assist with Partnership for a Drug-Free Detroit and work with the Youth Development Institute, two organizations that help inner city kids to follow the right way.

Our youth are also actively involved in helping to keep city streets clean by volunteering for the Motor City Makeover Program. In supporting this program, we are helping to rid the city of broken cars, trash and debris that was mindlessly discarded or abandoned on the streets of Detroit. It is our sincere desire to have more young people in our neighborhood participate in these programs with us.
