Hospitality Commission

When two entities with separate membership and occupying separate locations decide to merge, special efforts need to be made to cement that merger. These efforts may be compared to the mortar that cement bricks together to establish a strong structure.

Our structure is the Corpus Christi Community. Our bricks are the teaching of Jesus, and our mortar is represented by the opportunities to reach out to each other, so that we recognize that we can make a stronger structure by working together.

Towards this goal, the Council of the Corpus Christi Community has authorized the establishment of a Hospitality Commission.

The mission of this Commission is to maximize the impact of the various outreach opportunities that have already been established and to create new ones that will fulfill our goal of one community from two roots.

Existing examples are:

1. The Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

2. The Feast of Corpus Christi Celebration

3. Summer Picnic

4. Christmas Party

The goal is not just to have these and other possible events, but also to increase attendance at each. We should not rest until every parishioner attends at least one of our events. Since each person is different, and some do not like crowded parties, perhaps some small, more intimate activities could be established such as card parties or field trips to Belle Isle or the Cider Mill.
