Evangelization

Evangelization starts when we announce God’s love through a faith commitment in our family, society, workplace and church. At Corpus Christi everyone has the responsibility to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

At Corpus Christi we have an Evangelization Committee responsible for planning creative evangelization initiatives, and an Evangelization Team. The team is responsible for implementing the plans. Volunteers are needed in both areas.

Meeting Times
The Evangelization Committee meets on the third Thursday of each month at 1:00pm at the St Gerard Center. The evangelization team meets quarterly.

Goals
Evangelization is a continuous process. Our goal is in keeping with the National Plan and Strategy for Catholic Evangelization in the United States issued in 1992 by the U.S. Bishops, Go Make Disciples:

1. “To bring about in all Catholics such an enthusiasm for their faith that, inliving their faith Jesus, they freely share it with others.”

2. “To invite all people in the United States, whatever their social or culturalbackground, to hear the message of salvation in Jesus Christ so they may come to join us in the fullness of the Catholic Faith.”

3. “To foster Gospel values in our society, promoting the dignity of the human person, the importance of the family, and the common good of our society, so that our nation may continue to be transformed by the saving power of Jesus Christ.”
